Chelsea is prepared to pay £40million for a left-back as the Blues are keen on signing FC Porto Alex Telles.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is keen on strengthening the left-back position and he has identified FC Porto defender Telles as the player who can take up the mantle from Alonso.
The Brazilian defender has been a target for the Stamford Bridge outfit and Chelsea has made numerous attempt to bring him to the Stamford Bridge but has failed to seal a deal.
The 27-year-old Brazilian would be out of contract next season as he refused to sign a contract extension in a bid to force a move out of the Portuguese club, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax and Juventus are all craving for his signature but Chelsea is serious about sealing a deal this time.
Telles is a regular starter for FC Porto, he made 32 appearances and has eight goals to his name.
