Paraguayan side currently sits fifth in the early stages of their Apertura campaign, and President Marco Trovato promised to make a big splash by signing the veteran striker if the club signed up an additional 20,000 members over the weekend.
The 35-year-old Togo international moves to the Paraguayan side on a free transfer, it was announced on Tuesday on the club social media after ended a three-month spell with Turkish side Kayserispor in December.
Adebayor joined the reigning Primera Division champions for the 2020 campaign, having played alongside Santa Cruz at the Etihad Stadium between 2009 and 2010 as former AS Monaco star is set to be presented to the club’s supporters this week as they look ahead to a match against 12 de Octubre at the weekend.
