Chelsea midfielder Matteo Kovacic has aimed a sly dig at his former manager Maurizio Sarri after the Croatian labeled his training regime as monotonous while he appreciates that of his current manager Frank Lampard and his former boss at Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane.

These were the last three managers he worked with as far as club football is concerned.

Kovacic joined Chelsea under the guidance of Sarri and describe the training method as monotonous and he heaped praise on the method of Lampard and Zidane.

He claims that the training under the Italian manager is challenging and in his view, Zidane and Lampard have a similar method and he insisted that the approach of Zidane and Lampard suits his style as there were a lot of similar training sessions with a focus on tactical preparation.
