See the squad numbers Odion Ighalo could take at Manchester United including to iconic shirt number currently vacant in Alexis Sanchez’s absence.

The 30-year-old Nigerian forward arrived in Manchester over the weekend after flying from China and was pictured at the Lowry Hotel on Monday morning ahead of his official unveiling as the Devils players on a five-month loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua to offset the loss of Marcus Rashford, who is currently sidelined with a double stress fracture to the back.

Ighalo scored 36 goals in two seasons for Changchun Yatai before joining Shenhua last February, where he has notched 10 in 18 appearances.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner will now be charged with helping Manchester United secure a top-four finish in the Premier League, with major silverware also still up for grabs in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Here is the Manchester United squad numbers Ighalo could choose from.

7 – The most iconic shirt number in the club, currently vacant in Alexis Sanchez’s absence. Ighalo wore this number in three of his four seasons at Granada.

11 – Anthony Martial’s old number but it most famously belonged to Ryan Giggs.12 – Vacant while Chris Smalling is on loan at Roma.16 – An option as Marcos Rojo has left the club on loan. Ighalo wore this in his first spell at Granada and at AC Cesena.19 – Marcus Rashford’s old number.

25 – Last occupied by former club captain Antonio Valencia. Briefly worn by Ighalo at Granada.27- Marouane Fellaini’s old number which Gary Neville wore at the start of his United career.

30 – Matteo Darmian wore it for one season as did Wes Brown back in 1998-99 season.

34 – A shirt shared between goalkeepers. Sam Johnstone, Dean Henderson, and Anders Lindegaard have all worn it.

35 – Jesse Lingard and Tom Cleverley’s old number.36 – Another number was worn by Matteo Darmian.

42 – Paul Pogba’s number he wore back during his first stint at Old Trafford.

43 – Hasn’t been worn since Cameron Borthwick-Jackson back in 17-18.

45 – Kieran O’Hara last had this number in 16-17.

Most other numbers to 99 are available, and if Ighalo was to choose a sentimental number he might go for the 89 shirts he wore at Udinese in 2009-10.
