Captain Ahmed Musa dropped to the substitute bench as Rangers attacking midfielder Joe Aribo set to makes his home debut after he was named in Super Eagles starting eleven against Benin Republic in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Super Eagles, who have won Africa's most prestigious tournament three times in the past, finished in third place in this year’s competition in Egypt as both nations were selected in Group L alongside the teams of Sierra Leone and Lesotho.

Gernot Rohr men go into the match against their West African neighbors in fine form, having held Ukraine and Brazil to credible draws in recent friendly matches with the German tactician recalled Ahmed Musa and Daniel Akpeyi along with Samuel Kalu, Mikel Agu and Kenneth Omeruo.

Super Eagles coach has retained Troost-Ekong and Ajayi partnership in the middle of the defense as Akpeyi returned to the national setup for the first time last summer tournament in Egypt.
